Describe what the slab must support
Explain whether the proposed work is a residential pad, floor or another installation and identify intended equipment or loads. Supply available manufacturer information and describe any future use you are considering. Dimensions alone do not determine thickness, reinforcement, supporting preparation or suitability. An informational calculator estimates volume; it does not supply an engineered design or authorize an order quantity.
Ask who determines specifications
Ask the provider what additional assessment, design information or approvals the actual use requires. Discuss site access, supporting conditions and adjoining structures. Do not assume a small footprint eliminates design or approval questions. Confirm who is responsible for obtaining the necessary information and whether the estimate depends on specifications that have not yet been established.
Read the preparation and installation boundary
Ask which items cover excavation, supporting work, forms, specified reinforcement, placement, finishing and cleanup. Identify exclusions and how different conditions discovered during preparation are handled. Compare proposals against the same intended use and specifications; a smaller total may describe less work rather than a lower price for equivalent installation.
Plan the release and next step
Request curing, protection and written release instructions for the intended loads. Confirm when equipment or later construction may proceed based on the actual installation and conditions. Use the concrete-slab service page to prepare the assessment request and bring the use information to the provider conversation. This guide cannot determine the slab design, completion date or final price for your property.
