Hiring decision

Which questions help you choose a concrete installation provider?

Compare site assessment, written specifications, access, change approvals and the handover before hiring for new residential concrete.

Confirm the company and accepted work

Ask for the company name, contact information, relevant credentials and insurance, then check those details directly. Describe the new residential project and full address so the provider can confirm the work it accepts. A referral website, photograph or displayed number does not establish who will carry out the installation or when. Confirm the provider’s actual availability before making arrangements.

Ask what the site assessment covers

Discuss the proposed footprint, intended use, access, adjoining surfaces and drainage observations. Ask what measurements or additional information are needed before specifications are established. An early estimate may rely on assumptions about demolition, supporting conditions or equipment access. Ask which assumptions the site visit will confirm and what remains excluded. The homeowner’s sketch supports the conversation; it does not design a slab.

Compare the written specification

Ask the provider to identify preparation, demolition where relevant, supporting work, reinforcement, placement, finish and curing instructions in the proposal. Ask who determines those specifications and whether an engineer or approval is needed for the actual use. Compare equivalent scope rather than assuming two totals cover the same construction. Request the process for authorizing changes after excavation reveals a different condition.

Plan the handover before signing

Discuss temporary access, protection of new work, cleanup and written release instructions for the intended loads. Ask which later maintenance responsibilities remain yours and who receives questions after completion. The FTC advises checking contractors and obtaining written estimates; this does not guarantee a result or prescribe the design for your property. Use the driveway installation page to prepare a defined residential-project request and confirm details directly with the provider.
