Start with the same project
A square-foot price is useful only when the underlying scope matches. Measure the work, state whether existing concrete must be removed, and identify the finish. Ask each estimator to price the same boundaries.
Six items to compare
Look for demolition and disposal; excavation and base preparation; concrete specification and reinforcement; finish and joint layout; drainage and adjoining transitions; and access, approvals, and restoration. A low total may simply omit a necessary item.
Access changes the work
A slab near the street and one behind a narrow gate can have different delivery and labor needs. Include gate measurements and wide photographs rather than relying on the slab dimensions alone.
Get alternatives priced separately
If you are choosing between a broom finish and a decorative pattern, ask for the difference as a separate line. Do the same for optional widening, landscaping, or adjoining walkway replacement.
Ask about unknown conditions
Agree how the contractor will handle unsuitable material found after removal. Ask for the decision process and written change pricing before additional work begins.
There is no verified local price range here
This guide does not invent a Boise installed-price average. Request a property-specific quote and ask about any assessment charge, payment schedule, warranty, and exclusions before booking.

Compare the items in a concrete quote, check the local approval starting points, and gather measurements with the estimate checklist.
